Why I am Leslie Kirc |

| I was named by my mother. Leslie was after her good riding friend and english teacher Leslie Fowler. Kirc was after her beloved Grandma Kirk, Mary Jane Rudolph Kirkpatrick. Why she changed the spelling at the end to a C had something to do with me being a girl and my mother being overly creative. As a child I was called Kirc or Kircie. When I went to college after I was divorced, I had a teacher for a block of classes that refused to call me Kirc. So I became Leslie Kirc and my husbands last name. After my children were grown I decided to drop my married name. This was 15 or so years after the divorce. I didn't want my father's name back because he didn't treat my mother and me very nice and was asked to leave. So I now am just Leslie Kirc. If you noticed Kirc has been my middle, first, and last name. | |
